Ah, Labello. I don't think it's even sold in the U.S. I believe it's German, in fact. It's basically Nivea fir those countries that don't have Nivea. I got all my Labellos in Israel. Before reading my review, keep in mind that when someone is talking about Labello, they are usually talking about the Classic tube. This particular review is for Soft Rose.
The packaging for this product is pretty simple. Which is nice, especially considering that it's a lip balm, and shouldn't really put on any airs, as designer balms are likely to do. The packaging is the some color as the balm, but I don't consider this to be a tinted balm, because the only way it will deposit any color is if your lips are dead white, and even then it will be a slight hint. Originally, the top of this balm was domed, but I've used it enough that the top was flat.
Bare lips
After eating about 45 minutes later, the outside of my lips were soft, but the inside of my lips were dry, wrinkled and felt very dehydrated. This time, when I reapplied the outside of my lips still felt soft but the inside felt dry and wrinkled with a layer of wax on top. By now, my lips felt quite uncomfortable so I decided to exfoliate them and reapply. An hour later, my lips felt balmy, but no softer.
I should note that this isn't the first time I used this balm, so it had definitely been pushed down which may have helped it become waxier, and it was hot enough to melt the balm a little bit.
Overall, this is a handy lip balm. I don't hate it. I won't be using it to hydrate my lips, because it doesn't seem to do that. But it would be a good base for a tacky lipstick or to thin out an intense color. I wouldn't go out looking for it, because there are so many other lip balm options, but if you already have it or come across it, it's a fine base - not a rehydration.
